Ari and I spent the day together yesterday as a little back-to-school date. We mostly ran errands... but he said, "I love today...it's all about me." There was plenty of annoying little brother stuff going on when Setareh was around. But when she was off being the big sister we had fun. I bought his soccer headband, a Peruvian Park sweatshirt, made a trip to the library just for him AND we played a mean game of checkers with Buttermilk. I learned the "2 door" cars just look COOL and that when Ari grows up he will drive a 2 door Mustang either - yellow, red or blue. We met his 4th Grade teacher, Mrs. Roberts...I got a wonderful warm and inspiring feeling! I hope Ari enjoys 4th grade. My only sadness came as we were holding hands from the walk from the car to the school, Ari let go right as we hit the school parking lot. ohhh he promised he would stay my sweet little guy - i hate when the peer influence happens. He was all set for the soccer headband that I am insisting he wear and told him if anyone makes fun of him he can say, "When you play as hard as me, then you can make fun of me!" He got embarrassed when a peer was int he soccer store with him. We'll see if I can get his Baba and coach to support me. I hope Ari is the trend setter in the sport. He is amazing to watch but his mamma can't sit through another game without making sure I've done everything I can to protect that Bright, Loving and talented brain!!!
