Whirlwind Weekend

Friday Night:  Was Setareh's birthday but I had to work and showed the film Apache  8 with a great panel afterward - I am so mad at myself for not taking any pictures. Afterwards, I volunteered to cook 2 Turkeys for the Urban Indian Center so, I cooked 2 turkeys all night.

Then I woke up early Saturday to take Setareh to shul, the turkeys to Indian Center, get shopping done from Pars Market, pick up Setareh at Synagogue and hurry home for 3 generation shopping at the mall. I find it completely ironic that at the point in my life when the last place on earth I want to go is to the mall that that is where my daughter wants to.... 4 hours of shopping was super fun with my mother and my daughter but seriously exhausting.  We pierced Setareh's ears a second time and I think did my last shopping ever at H&M - they are true con artists and I'm over it, however, Setareh got a very cute outfit for a good price with her birthday money from grandma.  I think she is learning to be a good shopper.  Then in honor of American Indian Heritage month, just cause my poor family hasn't had enough - Setareh and i curled up on the couch to watch the classic, Smoke Signals.  Very Fun..but midnight came around the boyz returned from Ari's first U of U Football game with his Baba. Before the game Ari had been to Farsi class and Soccer party. So heading to sleep around 1am to get up early Sunday morning to teach at RSRS, do a training afterward, get to Costco for Thanksgiving and Birthday party shopping then rushing home to make dolmeh for the family party made for one very busy and very exhausting whirlwind of a weekend.
